Rights and duties are correlative. Fundamental duties are constant reminder to citizens.
In democratic constitutions of world Japan has, some provisions for duties. In Britain, Australia and Canada largely through Common law & judicial decisions. In USA there are only Fundamental rights & not Fundamental duties and was largely in soviet constitution.
a)to abide by the Constitution and respect National Flag and the National Anthem
(b) to cherish and follow the noble ideals of national struggle for freedom
(c) to uphold and protect the sovereignty, unity and integrity of India
(d) to defend the country and render national service when called upon
(e) to promote harmony and the spirit of common brotherhood and to renounce practices derogatory to the dignity of women
(f) to value and preserve the rich heritage and culture
(g) to protect and improve the natural environment
(h) to develop the scientific temper, humanism, spirit of inquiry and reform
(i) to safeguard public property and abjure violence
(j) to strive towards excellence in all spheres of individual and collective
(k) a parent or guardian to provide opportunities for education to his child or ward between the age of six and fourteen years.
However Enforcement of Fundamental duties are not there.
