A)Under Section 191 BNS)

  1. ​Whenever force or violence is used by an UA or any member in prosecution of the common object, every member is guilty of rioting.

2.Whoever guilty of rioting shall be punishable with Imprisonment ​upto 2 years/fine/both.

3.Whoever guilty of rioting ​with deadly weapon or weapon of offence likely to cause death shall be punishable with Imprisonment upto 5 years/fine/both.

B)Under Section 192 Deliberately giving provocation to causs riot if rioting be committed shall be punishable for imprisonment upto 1year/fine/both and if not committed 6 months/fine/both

​In re Kasthurirangam & Ors: Even if not all accused used force, violence in pursuit of a common object makes all punishable for rioting.
